My life’s story in the Automotive Repair Business.

My life’s story in the Automotive Repair Business.

My name is Scott Sobeski, I started as a mechanic in 1972 at a Chevrolet Dealership in Darien CT.I graduated high school in 1971 and went to Iona College in New Rochelle NY.I was fortunate  to grow up in Byram CT with my cousins living close by some on the same street. I drove to College because we lived so close. One day while sitting in class I realized I had my 1966 white Pontiac repower GTO with a four speed transmission and cragar ss mag wheels sitting  in the parking lot. It was then I realized it was time to pursue my real passion for cars. My father was a machinist so I was destined to work with my hands. So at 18 years old I started by changing oil and undercoating new Chevrolet cars and trucks. My take home pay was 80$ a week. Yes 80 dollars for a 40 hour week.

I fell in love with Tee Shirts the first time we went to a drag strip called Raceway Park in Englishtown NJ. I would buy as many event shirts as I could afford with the little money I had. When I got married my new wife knew I cherished my tee shirts. I was a tall skinny kid growing up as time went by of course i started gaining weight from the delicious Italian dinners my wife made. So now the shirts don’t fit but I kept them anyway.

I still have a passion for cars especially Classic cars, Hot Rods and NHRA drag racing. I would love to share my 50 years of knowledge with everyone. My auto repair business had over 100 5 star reviews at one point, I was rated number 1 repair shop in Stamford CT.I am very proud of my shop it was  called Scotty’s Automotive Inc. So I plan on helping people find and work with fair and honest repair shops. It’s not that hard to have a good relationship with a reputable shop. I can also answer questions anyone may have on repairs and service of their cars.

My goal with making these tee shirts is to save some of the sayings from the guys and girls I worked with throughout my career. starting in the 70’s . I would love to see the sayings continue on because they are fun and harmless to people’s feelings. I was very fortunate to work at great dealerships with good mechanics and managers that taught me how to be a good person and a good mechanic that’s how i want my tee shirt business to be remembered.
